The NUR has been established since 1963 with its first mission: provide higher education, conduct research, and offer services to the community. 

Nowadays the university proposes 7 faculties, 2 schools and 6 centers and stays strongly linked to its environment and takes part of the development of the region.

The NUR can also count on an active association of Alumni.
